What we check on your website

These are the problems we see most often on local business websites, in order of how many customers they tend to cost. Your email lists the top three we find on your site, plus what's already working.

Mobile-friendly layout
Whether your site fits a phone screen, or shows the desktop page shrunk down so visitors have to pinch and zoom.
Security (HTTPS)
Whether your site loads securely. Browsers label sites without HTTPS "Not secure", and Google ranks them lower.
Tap-to-call phone numbers
Whether a customer on a phone can tap your number to call you, or has to copy it and type it in.
A clear way to get in touch
Whether your home page has a contact form, quote or booking button, or contact link where people can find it.
Server speed
How long your home page takes to arrive. Slow pages lose visitors before they see anything.
Your title in Google
Whether your page title says what you do and where, or starts with "Welcome" or gets cut off in search results.
Signs the site is out of date
An old copyright year in the footer makes visitors wonder whether you're still in business.
Business details for Google
Whether your site tells Google your business name, address, phone and hours in the format it reads (LocalBusiness structured data).
Search description
The short summary Google shows under your title. Without one, Google picks a random snippet.
Image descriptions (alt text)
Whether your images are described for screen readers and search engines, a common accessibility gap.

Website check FAQ

Is the website check really free?

Yes. There's no cost, no account and no credit card. You get your results by email, and we'll only follow up if you reply.

What does the website checker look at?

It checks your home page the way a customer on a phone and Google see it: whether it fits a phone screen, whether your phone number is tap-to-call, whether there's a clear way to contact you, how quickly it responds, whether it's secure, and what Google sees (your title, description and business details). You get the three issues most likely to be costing you calls and customers.

How do I check if my website is mobile-friendly?

Enter your website address above. One of the first things we check is whether your site tells phones to fit it to the screen. Without that, phones show a shrunk-down desktop page with tiny text, and many visitors leave.

Why do you need my email address?

We send the results by email so you have them to refer back to, or to forward to whoever manages your site. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your address. We may reply once to ask if you'd like help.

Does it work with Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and GoDaddy sites?

Yes. The check works on any public website, whatever it's built with. Most fixes can be made inside the platform you already use, so you don't need a new site.

Is this a full SEO or accessibility audit?

No. It's a quick, automated check of your home page that catches the most common problems for local businesses. A full audit covers every page and is done by a person; reply to your results email if you'd like one.

Want a person to look at your whole site?

We fix these problems inside the site you already have, on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or GoDaddy, so you keep your platform and your logins. Read the website problems that cost local businesses the most calls, or get in touch.
